About
The NSW Environment Protection Authority (NSW EPA) is the state’s lead environmental regulator.
We protect, restore, and enhance the environment while working to reduce risks to human health. Our responsibilities include pollution control, waste and recycling management, and land and water contamination.
We regularly invite feedback from the public and stakeholders on proposed regulatory changes. We also publish the NSW State of the Environment report, which tracks key environmental trends and conditions across the state.
